Important Safety Measures

High water levels can cause major damage to chassis. Equipment on the street that has been subject to a high-water incident (i.e., water levels at or near the bottom of the wheel hub) may pose a serious safety concern. Please take appropriate precautions to ensure that the equipment located in low lying areas is moved out of harm’s way. Under your agreement with TRAC Intermodal, you may be obligated to safeguard chassis while they are on-hire to you or otherwise in your possession or control. If your agreement with TRAC Intermodal does not contain these provisions, please share these important safety instructions to your designated motor carriers who are in possession of TRAC Intermodal chassis. If equipment may have been subjected to a high water incident:

Please check the wheels for any signs that water may have entered the wheel hub, such as debris or a water line above the bottom of the wheel hub. Any chassis showing these signs, or known to have been subjected to a high-water incident, should not be moved over the road.

If you have a chassis on hire that may have been subjected to a high-water incident, please report it to TRAC Intermodal Customer Support at 1-877-987-2226, Option #2. Please provide the chassis number, your SCAC code, and the location of the chassis when reporting these incidents. TRAC Intermodal will dispatch a road service vendor to inspect the chassis for any possible damage and perform any necessary repairs. You will not be charged for the inspection or repair costs associated with these reported incidents. Please do not move the chassis until it has been inspected and repaired, as necessary.
